Intimate has been the theme for 2020 weddings, and this next year is looking like it’s going to continue in this direction. Katie and Nick had always dreamed of a small gathering of their closest family and friends for their wedding, even before Covid steered wedding guest counts. They opted for a vacation mansion for a long weekend to celebrate their marriage that could host everyone, 17 rooms! I love this approach for a wedding venue for so many reasons, especially because there is no travel from ceremony to reception and there is an indoor backup option if the weather goes awry. Katie and Nick’s day was so relaxed and elegant, and their ceremony was traditional with many personal notes added throughout that made it light and sincere with the most genuine smiles. There was no lack of beautiful scenic locations and this couple makes a portrait session look so fun and easygoing.
